- Attendant Care Assessments ( Form1 )
A standardized assessment of an injured individual's ability to perform their basic and essential personal care activities. An Assessment of Attendant Care Needs, ( Form1 ) is completed to itemize the activities and associated costs of the individuals required assistance. CLOSE

An independent assessment of a client by an experienced Chiropractor which provides a clear professional opinion as to their diagnosis, treatment and prognosis.

- Catastrophic Assessments
Our experienced team of evaluators conduct comprehensive assessments to assist in determining whether a catastrophic designation is appropriate, based on the AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment, 4th Edition. CLOSE
- Dental Assessments
An independent assessment of a client by an experienced dentist which provides a professional opinion of diagnosis, prognosis and treatment options. CLOSE
- Direct Medical & Rehabilitation Assessments
HVE has a roster of over 300 registered health professionals across Ontario that have a minimum of three years of experience in the completion of medical and rehabilitation assessments. Our medical assessors respond clearly and objectively to all questions posed by the referral source in determining eligibility to disability and medical benefits. CLOSE
- Ergonomic & Worksite Assessments
Ergonomics is a science that fits workstations to workers to facilitate maximum productivity, consistent quality, and worker health and safety. Our ergonomic strategy involves the removal of unnatural postures and then extreme positions while attempting to reduce force and force concentration if applicable. The intention of our ergonomic intervention is to identify ergonomic risk factors present within an individual's workspace that may exacerbate their current medical conditions and to propose resolutions for such. - Functional Ability Evaluations
A safe, valid and reliable measurement of an individual's ability to do meaningful work and / or activities of daily living tasks using an internationally recognized FAE system/protocol. A concise opinion of current functional abilities is achieved. Our assessment includes a musculoskeletal screen prior to the examination to ensure client safety and suitability to perform a physical evaluation. The FAE system is fully mobile & service is available across Canada. CLOSE
- Future Care Cost Analysis/Life Care Plan
The evaluation of the medical, physical, attendant care, psychological, environmental and mobility needs of a permanently impaired individual which also provides for their future, life-long needs. This analysis takes into account all areas of one's daily and future needs and is prepared by a certified specialist. CLOSE
- Paper Review Assessments
HVE's paper review assessments have been carefully designed to meet insurer's needs with respect to the examination of treatment and proposed assessments. It includes a file review regarding a Treatment and Assessment Plan, (OCF-18) and will determine whether the proposed treatment is within the MIG, whether it is reasonable and necessary and evaluates the frequency, duration and cost of service. Some Catastrophic Determinations also involve complex file reviews.

- Hospital Discharge
HVE's hospital discharge service is completed within 48 hours of the referral, by an appropriate regulated health professional. The purpose of the hospital discharge is to assess the needs of an acutely injured client before the client is released from the hospital, and assist in the transition home. This assessment is done with the cooperation and participation of your client, family, and treating medical team. CLOSE
- Medical Assessments - Mobile Service
An independent assessment of a client by an appropriate Medical Specialist which provides a clear professional opinion as to their diagnosis and prognosis, as it relates to their activities at the time of injury and/or illness. A Physician Roster detailing our Medical Specialists & their areas of service is available upon request for service in Ontario & the Maritimes. CLOSE
- In - Home Activities of Daily Living Assessments
The objective evaluation of a clients' functional capabilities to perform the essential tasks of daily living within their home. Task demonstration includes housekeeping, childcare, home maintenance and personal care. Goal is the safe resumption of pre-injury activities. Objective measurements and clinical observations are included in a professional report. CLOSE
- Kinesiology - Functional Restoration/Home Exercise Programs
Certified kinesiologists are available to implement or supervise the completion of recommendations made as a result of an assessment completed by a regulated health professional. These recommendations may be completed within an individual's home, the community, or their place of employment as part of their work re-entry program. CLOSE
- Physiotherapy Assessment and Treatment
Assessment and in-home treatment is provided by registered physiotherapists qualified to provide preventative, diagnostic and therapeutic services aimed at restoring function and preventing disability. Our physiotherapist will assess, identify functional limitations and design a treatment program as required. All treatment recommendations will adhere to current best practice guidelines. CLOSE
- Psychological and Neuro-Psychological Assessments
The evaluation of a client from a psychological or neuro-psychological perspective, focused on the determination of disability, treatment and assessment needs. CLOSE
- Vocational & Psychological-Vocational Evaluations
The standardized evaluation of an individual's abilities to perform the required tasks of suitable employment as per their demonstrated skills, work experience, interests and aptitudes. Transferable Skills Analysis examines the worker profile of the individual and compares it to appropriate vocational options. The Labour Market Survey determines the availability of specific work options. This process may be augmented by an evaluation by a Psychologist, specializing in vocational assessments, to determine if the work options created are achievable & appropriate. CLOSE
